Rob Badenoch

Over the past twenty years, Rob Badenoch has cultivated a multidisciplinary expertise in audiovisual, acoustics, and converged systems design. His experience spans a wide array of vertical markets including cultural, education, corporate, government/military, hospitality, and healthcare. He brings to TAD a specialized skill-set that includes expertise in acoustical modelling, auralization, intelligibility prediction and measurement, broadcast video production systems, large venue sound systems design, and systems calibration. He balances these technical skills with a strong proficiency in client management and communication, and takes pride in his ability to illustrate technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Much of Mr. Badenoch’s project work is with clients who have unique and varied systems requirements. A media retrieval system for the New York Library of Performing Arts, a concert venue with distance learning capability at Carnegie Hall, and HDTV production studios for the media arts curriculum at Kuwait University are examples of his work.

Mr. Badenoch is well versed in large venue sound system design and has more than twenty years’ experience developing computer models for simulation of loudspeaker systems and room acoustics. He devotes equal attention to the testing and eld calibration of sound and video systems using the latest acoustical data acquisition and signal analysis tools.

Mr. Badenoch has presented at USITT, AIA, and AES conferences on the design of technology systems for the performing arts, speci cally with regards to curriculum-driven design for education as well as architectural integration of technology. He balances his design efforts at TAD with sound and video production work in New York City theater and music venues, thus maintaining a direct connection to the needs of facility users and performers.
